The St. Andrew’s Teaching School Alliance is committed to school improvement. We lead the co-ordination of school to school support and identify priorities in our locality, supporting those schools with an identified need.
Our alliance has head teachers who are National Leaders of Education (NLEs) and 4 Specialist Leaders of Education (SLEs) covering a range of areas of specialism including English, EYFS and phonics.
National Leaders of Education
National Leaders of Education are outstanding headteachers who use their skills and experience to support schools in challenging circumstances. In addition to leading their own schools, NLEs work to increase the leadership capacity of other schools to help raise standards.

Specialist Leaders of Education
Specialist Leaders of Education are outstanding middle and senior leaders with at least 2 years’ leadership experience in a particular specialism. SLEs can be used to deliver professional development or to work alongside specific teachers or teams within a school to bring about school improvement.
As lead school in the alliance, St. Andrew’s will recruit and manage the deployment of SLEs.
