Welcome to St. Andrew’s CE Primary Teaching School

St. Andrew’s is proud to be the first primary teaching school appointed in Salford and to lead the St. Andrew’s CE Primary Teaching School Alliance. It is an outstanding place to work and learn.

We offer a welcoming and supportive environment for all of our trainees. Collaborating with Liverpool Hope University, we develop personalised training that will have the academic and theoretical underpinning to allow trainees to become outstanding practitioners.

Teaching schools are outstanding schools that work with others to provide high-quality training and development to school staff. They are part of the government’s plan to give schools a central role in raising standards by developing a self-improving and sustainable school-led system.

From the Head

I am pleased to welcome you to the website of St. Andrew’s CE Primary Teaching School.
St. Andrew’s was the first primary school in Salford to be granted teaching school status, an achievement of which we are extremely proud.

As lead school in the St. Andrew’s teaching school alliance we are firmly committed to training and developing all staff to the highest levels and working with our partners to raise standards through school to school support.

St. Andrew’s has served the area of Boothstown for over 125 years and in that time many parents have chosen this school as the first vital step in their child’s education. We are delighted that this now extends to the next generation of teachers who will come to train with us.

We pride ourselves on being a happy, secure and forward-looking school committed to the highest possible achievements for our children and staff. This was recognised in March 2013 by Ofsted when they graded St. Andrew’s an ‘Outstanding’ school and again in August 2015 when we were awarded teaching school status.

Ethos and Values – Our Mission Statement
