Welcome to St. Andrew’s CE Primary Teaching School
St. Andrew’s was the first primary school in Salford to be granted teaching school status, an achievement of which we are extremely proud.
As lead school in the St. Andrew’s teaching school alliance we are firmly committed to training and developing all staff to the highest levels and working with our partners to raise standards through school to school support.
St. Andrew’s has served the area of Boothstown for over 125 years and in that time many parents have chosen this school as the first vital step in their child’s education. We are delighted that this now extends to the next generation of teachers who come to train with us. We offer a welcoming, supportive environment for all of our trainees. Collaborating with the University of Manchester, we deliver personalised training that has the academic and theoretical underpinning to allow trainees to become outstanding practitioners.
We pride ourselves on being a happy, secure and forward-looking school committed to the highest possible achievements for our children, staff and trainees. This was recognised in March 2013 by Ofsted when they graded St. Andrew’s an ‘Outstanding’ school and again in August 2015 when we were awarded teaching school status.
